Some days I feel invincible. I have a goal, a focus, determination, and confidence. Nothing can stop me.

Then, all of a sudden, my mind can flip into complete self-doubt. I feel like I have nothing to offer. I wonder why I’m doing what I do.

One side of me says, “Because I love it. Because I have the passion. Because I want to share.”

The other says, “Why even bother? Live your life for yourself. Go somewhere quiet. Forget about the rest.”

And I’m torn.

I still have that belief: Why not me? But the younger Pauline, who had absolute trust that there was a way and that I was going to make it, doesn’t come back in quite the same way anymore.

Now I know that things always work out, but not necessarily in the way I want. That’s life.

So, to you who have days when you don’t even know what you’re doing, followed by days when you know exactly what you want: I understand. I ride those waves too.

I think too few people talk about this because it can make you seem vulnerable. Weak, even.

For me, it takes strength and courage to say, “I don’t have it all together, but I keep going.”

I don’t think your life is easy. I don’t think you have no problems. I know you do. I have my own.

What I remind myself is to hold on to the good moments when I know all is well. When my mind tries to tell me the opposite, I don’t have to follow it.

I have a choice. I choose to believe in myself.

And that may be the toughest training protocol I practice every day.

I invite you into my life because I think we’re stronger together. But I also know the feeling of wanting to disappear into the middle of nowhere, where nobody knows your name.

One moment I wonder why I want people to know me. The next, I don’t want anyone to know me.

It can be hard to know what my heart wants when my faith and calm rise and fall like that.

I don’t have the solution. But I keep looking, and I keep finding my way.

To this day, it has worked out. To this day, I can still go and work out.

And to this day, I want to feel grateful—not just know that I should be grateful. Knowing what you should feel and actually feeling it are not the same thing.

I don’t have someone telling me how to live my life. And I don’t want anyone else to dictate it.

It takes a leap of faith to wake up with new hopes and start again without going backwards.

So before you sabotage yourself or criticize yourself, give yourself some credit for being honest. For being real. For not having to hold up a facade.

I don’t have to be more than human. I don’t have to be invincible every day.

Some days I wonder why I even want to be so tough. And then I remind myself that I’m not always tough.

But I know I don’t want to live with regrets. So I put up that fighting spirit and keep going.

I can only go forward. Live now. Live here.

Don’t ruminate on the past. Don’t romanticize it. Don’t try to change it.

Sometimes forgetting is the best way to find peace.

And tomorrow, I start again.

❤️

THIS IS THE FIGHTERDIET CHALLENGE

WHAT IS THE FIGHTERDIET CHALLENGE?The challenge is to actually get results. There is no requirement to announce that you showed up on Monday. You don’t need to post, check in or perform your commitment for anyone else. This is individual work.I give you a Fighterdiet Practice Book. You study it. You apply it. You practice.Without the challenge, there is no change.Almost everyone identifies with having a diet struggle. But when struggling becomes part of your identity, are you genuinely trying to solve it—or has the solution become a fantasy you keep postponing?I didn’t want to dream about solving my diet problems.I wanted to make the solution my reality, so I did.It wasn’t a quick fix. I didn’t have one epiphany that suddenly made everything easy. I encountered problems, solved them and then faced new versions of familiar patterns. That is life. And diet means life. You already know how to eat, right? Then what are you practicing? You are practicing how to stay focused. How to follow through. How to recognize your patterns and respond productively. How to remain consistent without turning nutrition into an all-or-nothing battle. This is something you practice for life.Unless you want to remain on the forever-frustration wagon—falling on and off diets, repeating the same work and wondering why you never thrive—it may be time to ask yourself:How much time am I investing in going backward and starting over?Following a productive nutrition plan is a skill. Just like training, it requires repeated practice. You don’t master it by thinking about it, watching five-second reels or waiting for motivation. You master it by doing the work. That is the Fighterdiet Challenge: solving your diet conundrum.I made my diet struggle my diet solution—and I love it.That is why you don’t see me constantly jumping between keto, the newest nutrition system and the next quick fix. I built Fighterdiet to solve the problems that kept me from being consistent. I continue using different Fighterdiet practices because they keep the process focused, effective and interesting. The goal is consistency.Consistency is what produces and sustains long-term body transformation. There is no quick fix. There is no crash diet that solves your life. All a crash diet does is crash you away from your dedication. If you wonder why you need a challenge, look backward:How long have you truly enjoyed and sustained your fitness results? You can train all day long, but nutrition remains paramount.I challenge you to find and follow a way of eating that you enjoy enough to practice consistently.I didn’t want to struggle forever.I wanted freedom.I wanted to trust myself.I wanted moderation instead of being completely on or completely off.No self-destruction.No starting over.I wanted to look forward to every day because I get to eat. That is bliss in my book.Sometimes the beginning of the solution is finding the one little thing that makes you happy every day. For me, it was my Heavenly Bowl. When will it be time to realize that you can solve this—if you genuinely decide to?That is the Fighterdiet Challenge.Welcome to the practice.

This is what the Fighterdiet challenge is about!

THIS ISN’T FITNESS NETFLIX

I’m getting tired of feeling like I have to explain 10,000 things every time I show you my training.

“Go to a doctor. Get evaluated. This might not be suitable for you. That might not be applicable to someone else.”

I understand why those distinctions matter. But I also feel limited when I can’t simply document my training life without feeling like I have to write a thousand-page disclaimer.

What I share is my training life.

I show you how I live and practice fitness. What do I do when my golfer’s elbow or tennis elbow comes back? What do I do with my hamstrings? How do I find a way to keep training when something isn’t working?

I’m not telling you that what I do is suitable for you. I’m showing you what I do.

And I don’t want to hide that.

How many times do you think I’ve had elbow pain? It comes and goes. Why do you think I train forearms like an obsessive? Because I’ve found that it helps me. Why do you think I have extra training programs that are not basic at all? Because there are things I need to do to keep my body training.

Necessity makes me find a way. Then I share it.

Everyone wants a simple program. Yes, I provide simple programs. But that doesn’t mean every training need is simple.

That’s why I have all these playlists, extra exercises, workarounds, and different ways of training. They exist because I needed them. I found a way to work with something, and I made it available.

You might look at one of those options and think, “I have something going on here too. Maybe there’s a way I can train around it.”

That doesn’t mean I’m going to heal your pain. I’m not a doctor, and I’m not promising that my solution is your solution.

I’m showing you that there might be another way to approach your training.

If something is advanced, I warn you. If I say, “Big fat warning on this move,” I mean it. I’m showing you why I do it and how I do it for myself. That is not an invitation to copy something you are not prepared for.

You have to be an independent-thinking person.

Observe. Learn. Take what interests you to your medical provider if you need evaluation or clearance. Then decide what is appropriate for you.

I’m a coach. I teach. I train. I share what I practice.

I don’t want to spend my training life hiding what I do because I cannot explain every possible thing that could go wrong for every possible person.

This isn’t Fitness Netflix.

I’m documenting my training. I make programs, from simple to advanced, because training is not one identical experience for everyone.

The ideas are abundant. The practice is individual.

Take what is useful. Be responsible for your choices. Get the help you need. And train.

I’ve got a training day to seize -WHAT ABOUT YOU?

Today is Labor Day, and I’m celebrating hard work. But I’m also celebrating friendship.

Because building something on your own is not the same satisfaction as building it with someone who shares your goals, fuels your passion, and wants to keep building greatness together.

Pavel Ythjall and I have been one strong team since we met in 2001.

We shared the immigrant adventure. We made a name for ourselves in the United States of America together. We worked hard, built careers, and created things that neither of us could have done the same way alone.

He has documented nearly my entire career, helped create the fitness image you know me for, and taught me how to become stronger in front of the camera.

But what I value most is that we never stopped building.

Pavel is disciplined, focused, and creative. He shows up. No excuses. He doesn’t sit on old merits and think they will last forever. He keeps evolving, and that fuels me too.

He is my best friend and former business partner. I know his loyalty, his honesty, and the kind of person he is when the work needs to get done.

That is what I mean by finding people who share your mindset.

Not people who just talk about what they want to do. People who actually DO it.

People who fuel your passions, keep you motivated, and want to see you succeed while they keep building their own lives.

Being alone building is not the same satisfaction as having united minds that want to build greatness together.

And we have more to do than sit around talking about the past.

Pavel, thank you for the friendship, the hard work, and everything we have built together.

We’re not done.

WHAT HAPPENED TO MY ENERGY?

If you’re fit over 40, maybe you’ve asked yourself that too.

You still want to train.
You still care about your body.
You still have goals.

But life has changed.

More stress. More pressure. New aches and pains. Less energy for everything you used to demand from yourself.

And then comes the self-doubt.

What happened to me? Why can’t I do what I used to do? Am I losing it?

I know those questions because I ask them too.

That’s why I created WHAT HAPPENED TO MY ENERGY?

It’s a Fighterdiet self-inquiry practice about managing stress, changing energy, self-doubt and your fitness life over 40.

It’s not a meal plan.
It’s not another set of rules.
And it’s not about telling yourself to just push harder.

These are the questions I ask myself when life gets heavy and I need to understand what’s going on instead of turning against myself.

Because staying fit over 40 isn’t only about building a strong body.

You have to keep building the mind that lives in it.

Have you ever asked yourself, “What happened to my energy?”

Tell me.
